Jimmy Eats the World!
Well ok so they didn't really eat the World. But still, Jimmy Eat World was AWESOME!!!!
It was my first concert in the States. And let me tell you, the shit they call concerts at home are nothing compared to these. No seats, no security guards, no rules against jumping around. Instead its just this huge hall with the stage at one end and everyone just crowds up to it. The atmosphere is amazing.
When the band gets going the crowd starts jumping up and down. Once in a while a guy throws himself into the mosh pit the crowds makes and they all carry him along above their heads. In the middle of the crowd, some people are pushing around in a circle. It gets everyone going. It's just awesome!
I went with Sully and Kara. (Sully=Kate) And we had so much fun!!! Sully downed four beers beforehand, so she was somewhat buzzed by the time we got there. She's a riot when she's buzzed.. super affectionate, stumbling all over the place. It's a funny sight.
The band got going and we danced to the music for like a full hour and a half. We were in pretty close too, maybe about six feet from the stage. So we got to see the band up close and everything. Jimmy Eat World is really good live. I'm gonna run out and get their CD the next time I get the chance.
The concert wrapped at about 11:15pm. Then we piled into Kara's car and went to Wendy's for food. Chicken nuggets, frosties and fries. That hit the spot. And now I'm all contented, happy and ready to face the rest of my shit week. Studied last night (till 5am too!!!), partied tonight. Good balance wouldn't you say? :p
