Dissension Within the Ranks... Again
For the past two weeks or so, Sarah, Nikki and I have been getting more and more agitated with Rachel. It's not like she's doing any single major thing to piss us off. It's just that EVERYTHING she does seems to rub us the wrong way.
Honestly, it's gotten to the point that when Ms. Anal-Banal is home, we shut ourselves in our rooms (or in their case, the loft) just to avoid her.
But this time, she really takes the cake. Our electricity bill for this month came. And it's ridiculously expensive. While we paid only $45 last month, the bill is a whopping $92.40 this month! It's doubled! So we're staring at it openmouthed wondering what the hell we did to make it jump like that.
The first thing Rachel does is point the finger at me. "You don't turn off the lights when you leave your room." she accuses.
I do too!!! That's bull. But that's not the worst thing. The worst thing is that she's singularly responsible for the hike in the damn bill. Because she's the ONLY person in the whole damn house who turns on the heat.
Ok, this logic requires some background explanation. See, heat is twice as expensive as lighting here. So generally people don't use it much, and just resort to putting on more clothes when its cold. But Rachel has the fucking heat in her room on high all the time!
So now that's driven yet another wedge into our growing resentment against her and her mom-like ways. Me, Sarah and Nikki are all even more pissed. Geez. This is not looking pretty.
