To Corvallis and Back

Saturday night of our long three day weekend. Campus is really quiet because lots of people decided to go out of town. By 7pm, I've had dinner with a bunch of people from Adams hall where Reese lives. We go back to Adams and hang out. Tenzing and I are really bored. I call everyone I know but they're either out of town or not available. Tenzing calls a friend of hers who has a house nearby and we head up there to chill.

Tenzing's friend Jennifer lives in this really cool house with 5 other girls. They're all sophomores, a bunch of nice people with really weird names-- Kenea, Tanna, and Reesa. Something like that. Hawaiian, half-Thai and half Iranian respectively. We get talking, and eventually at about 9.30, Tanna gets a call from a friend in Corvallis--the next town 45 min away-- who's throwing a party tonight. On a burst of spontaneity (sp?) we decide to make the drive up there.

We go in two cars, all the way up to Corvallis. As it turns out the party's more like a big gathering than a really happening party. But that's ok. We dance a little, make an insane amount of noise for such a small group of people, and crank the stereo up as high as it can go. Apparently a little too high because by 12:30, we've got a cop knocking on our door. Everyone who's under 21 rushes to hide. We're minors, and we're drinking. If we get written up by the cops, everyone's screwed.

After the visit from our friendly neighborhood policeman, the party seems to wind down. Jen, Tenzing and I decide to leave, and we get directions for the 45min drive in the rain and pitch black darkness back to school.

Well that was my Saturday night. Definitely a lot more happening than last week!
